What's happening now...

I have been an artist all my life. I'm sure I always will be. School? Sure. Two years at Cornish in the fine arts dept. and then the tuition did me in. I learned to oil paint from Julanne Campbell who is a local NW painter. Wonderful artist. In 2001, I took a mother/daughter trip with Stella to Puerto Vallarta and thus began my 6 years and counting love affair with Mexico and all things latin. I knew that I couldn't just move there....yet, so I decided that I would do the next best thing and travel there as often as possible in order to capture images that I could then draw inspiration from in my artwork. I have been on at least 2 trips per year since then as well as one winter, my family and I drove to Puerto Vallarta in an RV and parked it on the beach for four months. Fabulosa!!! I focus on realism but strive for expressing myself impressionistically and strive for the abstract expression of realism. Boy, that was an artsy mouthful. My daughter Stella travels with me and thus, is the model in much of my work. I look for the colors, textures and local images that express Mexico to me. A place of passion, art, simplicity and great TACOS!!! You gotta love a good taco stand. I hope you enjoy my work. If you're interested in a painting just email me at d.ita.art@gmail.com and I can give you sizes and prices.

Bravo!
Good to see you have a site up! And thanks very much for keeping me on your mailing list, even though I have not been doing much art lately. BTW - your site needs contact info for those interested in making a purchase, no? Best of luck - hope to see you again soon! Michael Tabor
